List of most breathtaking places includes… Red Deer?

LETHBRIDGE – When you think of stunning scenery and brilliant architecture, does Red Deer immediately pop into your head?

It apparently did for the travel website Expedia. The site’s list of “The 34 Most Breathtaking Places in North America” ranks the central Alberta city at number 26, between Osoyoos, B.C. and Peterborough, Ont.

The blog post cites Maskepetoon Park and Bower Ponds as features that stand out in Red Deer.

Number one on the list is the Haida Gwaii of British Columbia, followed by Coronach, Sask. (and the adjacent Big Muddy Badlands) and Banff/Lake Louise, the only other Alberta location on the list.
