Lethbridge charity Tae Kwon Do tournament to raise money for KidSport

LETHBRIDGE – Competitiors from the US and Western Canada are in Lethbridge this weekend in the 20th annual Legacy Tae Kwon Do International Charity Tournament for KidSport.
 
The competition features a number of world champions and belt levels, including Grand Master C.K. Choi, who was inducted into he BC Sports Hall of Fame earlier this month, for his pioneering work in Tae Kwon do.
 
The event takes place begain yesterday (May 6) at the First Choice Savings Centre, at the University of Lethbridge, and continues today (May 7).
 
Last year, $15,000 was raised for KidSport, which helps underprivileged children access organized sports.
 
“Darin Gibson and Colin Nonomura of Legacy Tae Kwon Do have been outstanding supporters of KidSport,” explains Malcolm Kano, Chair of the Lethbridge/Taber KidSport chapter. “Their donations have assisted hundreds of kids with the opportunity to participate in sport. We are proud to be associated with them again in this year’s charity Tae Kwon Do tournament.”
 
Doors open at 8:00 am.
 
Day passes for Adults are $15, and Youth/Senior passes are $10. Children under 5 are free.
