Police respond to mental health situation

LETHBRIDGE – Police have wrapped up along the 2500 block of Walshe Drive West, after responding to a mental health situation Wednesday (May 24) afternoon.

A Lethbridge News Now reporter on scene was told that a portion of an apartment building in the area had been evacuated.

Police posted on Twitter at 3:04 p.m. that one male had been safely taken into custody. Traffic barricades were then taken down about 20-minutes later.

Residents are now allowed back in the area.
