More flour brands recalled by CFIA nationally for fear of E. Coli contamination

May 27, 2017 | 9:29 AM

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is adding more brands of flour to its list of recalled products.

The new list includes Creative Baker, Brodie, Golden Temple and Purity brands because of the fear they may be contaminated with E. Coli.

All of the products are distributed nationally.

The CFIA says the recall was triggered by findings during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak,  and other products may be included in the future.

Parent company Ardent Mills is urging people not to eat raw dough, batter or any other uncooked flour, and to bake or cook all items before eating them.

It’s also urging people to wash their handsthoroughly with soap and water after handling raw batter or dough, and to also wash utencils that have flour on them.

The CFIA says there have been reported illnesses associated with flour; however, at this time, there have been no confirmed illnesses associated with the products identified in this new Food Recall Warning.
