COALDALE – A single vehicle roll over claimed the life of a 73-year old Lethbridge man Friday (June 9) morning.

Coaldale RCMP say a 2005 white Ford Escape was heading south along Range Road 212, about one kilometer north of Highway 3 around 10:00 a.m., when it lost control. The vehicle went into the west ditch and hit an embankment.

The SUV rolled over, ending up on its roof. There were three occupants inside at the time.

A 73-year old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining two passengers were taken by ambulance to Chinook Regional Hospital with what is thought to be serious injuries.

The name of the deceased will not be released.

Traffic will be detoured around Range Road 212 for several hours while police continue their investigation.

An RCMP reconstructionist will be assisting Coaldale RCMP to determine the cause of the incident. No further information is expected.
