LETHBRIDGE – The list of Lethbridge city council candidates for the October 16, 2017 civic election now reads five names.

Zachary Gibb was the most recent addition, putting his name into the contest on Thursday (June 22).

In a media release, Gibb says he’s been the manager at the Real Canadian Superstore for the past twelve years, giving him valuable experience with “listening to people and helping them find solutions to their problems.” He adds that issues like curbside recycling, transit and the airport are at the top of his priorities.

“I’m running to make your voices heard, and to be the one you can talk to. This election isn’t about me, it’s about us and the vibrant future we can build together,” Gibb noted.

Nick Paladino was the first candidate to hand in his notice of intent. He was followed by Ross Morrell, William Craig Burrows-Johnson and Clint Germsheid.

Candidates that have filed a notice of intent are permitted to begin fundraising and receive donations for their campaigns.

The deadline for nomination papers to be filed is Sept. 18.
