LETHBRIDGE — It’s not often a ball team manages just one hit but goes on to win.

A wild bottom of the sixth resulted in a 3-1 Lethbridge Bulls victory over the Edmonton Prospects Tuesday, July 11. Here’s how it played out:

– Brock Frentzel is hit by a pitch and advances to first base.

– Pitcher Finnigan Duffield throws to first in a pickoff attempt. Batter Ryan Pouwells advances to first in a fielder’s choice, while Frentzel takes second.

– Edmonton gets the first out on Dylan Flasch, but Frentzel advances to third.

– Alex Bishop hits a sacrifice fly for the second out. Frentzel comes home for the first run, while Pouwells reaches third.

– An error by the third baseman allows Pouwells to score, as batter Jesse Hilyard takes first.

– Hilyard steals second on a swinging strike by Brett Semeniuk. Semeniuk walks, while Hilyard takes third on a wild pitch.

– Duffield is relieved by Jordan Parranto.

– A wild pitch to Carter Witbeck allows Hilyard to score. Witbeck is put out to end the inning.

The Prospects got one back in the seventh, but that was all the scoring. Witbeck singled in the second inning for the Bulls’ only hit. Landen Bourassa was awarded the win, allowing one run on eight hits in seven innings, with Dawson Moser coming in for the save in the ninth.

Next up for the Bulls, a trip to Medicine Hat Wednesday, July 12.
