Lethbridge student wins McCain Scholarship

LETHBRIDGE – A Lethbridge student is one of 10 winners of a four-year scholarship from McCain Foods.
 
The scholarships are open to students of McCain employees across North America.
 
Aayush Patel will be attending the Business Administration program at the University of Pennsylvania in the fall.
 
He excelled in Highest Grade Math, Science, and Social Studies, and held the position of Senior Executive in the National Honour Society in Grades 11 and 12.
 
Patel also played several sports, including badminton, baseball and volleyball, and spent time volunteering with the Helen Schuler Nature Centre and Chinook Regional Hospital.
 
Each scholarship winner receives $18,000, or $4,500 per year for four years.
 
According to a company news release, more than half of all scholarship winners since 1974 have continued their education to earn Master’s degrees or Doctorates in various fields.
