Interfaith Food Bank collecting lunch kits and snacks ahead of school year

Jul 31, 2017 | 6:08 AM

LETHBRIDGE – Even though the start of the school year is still more than a month away, the Lethbridge Interfaith Food Bank is asking for donations of lunch kits and healthy school snacks like granola bars, fruit cups, juice, and fresh fruits and vegetables, as it begins preparing for September.

The food bank takes part in an annual community-wide initiative that began in 2013, to gather school supplies, food and clothing for children whose families are in need.

All of the kits and snacks will be distributed at the beginning of the school year, and any supplies also collected will be given to local schools for distribution.

For anyone wanting a charitable tax receipt, they are asked to provide proof of purchase.
