LETHBRIDGE – A man who had 131 dogs, 62 rabbits, eight cats and three tortoises seized from his property in Vulcan County April 24, 2017, has had his case adjourned for two weeks, until August 14.

At that time, a multi-day trial may be set for Tyler Marshall.

Marshall has been charged with one count of causing animals to be in distress, and one count of failing to provide care for sick or injured animals, after there was a complaint from the public about the well being of hundreds on animals on a property near Milo.

After an independent assessment, the SPCA says 23 of the 131 dogs were returned to him, along with 17 rabbits, eight cats and two tortoises.

The rest of the dog seized by the SPCA are being adopted out to other homes.

Two of the dogs seized were put down, after contracting parvo.
