Walk-off single gives Bulls series-opening victory

LETHBRIDGE –– The Lethbridge Bulls gave fans some extra-inning excitement to begin their 2017 WMBL playoff run.

The Bulls downed the Medicine Hat Mavericks 3-2 in 10 innings in game one of their best-of-five playoff series Tuesday, Aug. 1. The winning run was scored when Jesse Hilyard singled with one out and runners on second and third, driving home Ryan Pouwells.

Starting pitcher Brady Moxham allowed two runs on six hits over nine innings. Reliever Louis Corral earned the win, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in the 10th.

Game two is Wednesday, August 2, 7:05 p.m. at Spitz Stadium.
