Emergency crews battling grass fire near Pincher Creek

PINCHER CREEK – Fire crews are contending with a grass fire north-east of Pincher Creek this afternoon (Aug. 16).

The above photo was sent in from Highway 785 near Highway 3 and the Oldman Dam.

At this time, there’s no word on what started the blaze or how large it has become.

It has also been reported to our newsroom that first responders on scene are asking the public to avoid the area.
