Music, sports events on tap in Lethbridge Saturday

LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge Electronic Music Festival will be celebrating its sixth year, when it gets underway Saturday morning (August 19) at Galt Gardens.

B-93.3 FM’s April Hanson will MC the event from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., and Country 95.5FM’s Gillian MacLeod will MC from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Last year’s event saw nearly 5000 people attend, with three stages and various genres of Electronic Music.

There are more than 30 acts this year, and according to organizers, it’s a free, family-friendly event.

Everything gets underway at 11 a.m. and runs until 11 p.m.

 

Meantime, the 3rd annual Sportsfest takes place Saturday (August 21) as well, at the Servus Centre on 28 Street South, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

There will be three demonstration areas, where people can “try out” skating, roller hockey and basketball, parkour, gymnastics and field hockey.

New this year is an inflatable batting cage hosted by Under the Lights, with the Lethbridge Bulls, PBA and Little League Alberta.

Castle Ski Resort, along with Alpenland and Burton, will also have an indoor snowboarding experience.

Those who want to register their child in sports and also do that there.
