LETHBRIDGE — Summer isn’t over yet, as organizers of this year’s Whoop-Up Days prepare for one of the season’s annual traditions.

The exhibition will begin with the Whoop-Up Days Parade Tuesday, Aug. 22. Exhibition Park said the parade is sold out, which means it will include 125 entries, barring any cancellations. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Park Place Mall, make its way south on 3rd Street to 3rd Avenue, east to 13th Street, and north to 9th Avenue North and Adams Ice Centre.

The parade means road closures, lasting from 9 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m, along the parade route and the dispersal area on 9th Avenue North.

Transit routes 20, 21, and 22 will be changed during that time as well.

Following the parade, the gates will open for day one of Whoop-Up Days. Tuesday’s opening is at noon, while the remainder of the days will begin at 1 p.m. at Exhibition Park.

This year’s Whoop-Up Days is celebrating the exhibition’s 120th anniversary, as well as Canada’s 150th birthday.
