LETHBRIDGE – The United Way of Lethbridge and South Western Alberta will be searching for a new executive director.

Trudy Carrels’ last day will be Aug. 31st. Carrels says she had a goal in early 2016 of rebuilding the United Way’s financial and operational position, and has now done so. An extra $75,000 worth of funding over last year was provided to community orgnaizations.

Carrels plans to return to her company, Global Physician Placement, and take some time to consider other options and projects. In a news release, she explained she expects to continue working in the non-profit sector.

The board and staff will work to ensure needs are still being met, while they schedule a meeting to pass a motion on the vacant position.
