Section of Highway 3 closed near Taber on Saturday due to train and semi collision

TABER – One lane of Highway 3 west of Taber was closed for nearly 11 hours beginning Saturday afternoon, after a collision between a semi and a train.
According to the Alberta Information Alert System, the accident happened west of the Village of Barnwell, near the westbound lanes around 1:45 p.m.
Global News reported that the semi was carrying a load of potatoes, which were scattered across a wide area. The semi’s two trailers were tossed on either side of the tracks.
There was no word on any injuries.
