PINCHER CREEK – A new bus is coming to Pincher Creek, with the financial help of the federal and provincial governments.

Ottawa is providing $46,000 from its Public Transit Infrastructure Fund (PTIF), with Alberta kicking in $303,333. The money will go towards an accessible bus that runs on compressed natural gas, as well as five bus shelters in the town.

It was one of a trio of transit funding announcements made Friday in Black Diamond. Turner Valley is the other community receiving funding.

Since the provincial and federal governments first agreed to put money into PTIF and water/wastewater projects, a total of 110 projects have been approved.
