Preliminary hearing begins for teacher accused of sexual exploitation

LETHBRIDGE – The two-day preliminary hearing is underway for a Raymond high school teacher, who faces two counts of sexual exploitation.
The hearing will determine if the Crown has enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial. At the outset of the proceeding, the prosecution stated that they expect to call seven witnesses. All evidence and testimony presented during the prelim is covered under a publication ban.
Jentry Jack Salmon was charged on Feb. 17, 2017, following an investigation by Raymond RCMP.
In a media release from police, they say they were informed that a teacher was having inappropriate interactions via text messages and conduct outside the school environment with a Raymond High School student.
