LETHBRIDGE – The snow isn’t through with Southern Alberta just yet.

As of 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 Lethbridge had recorded 7 cm of snow. However, totals were as high as 27 cm at Coleman, 33 cm at Cardston, and 30-40 cm at Waterton Lakes National Park.

Environment Canada said the cause is a slow-moving system over B.C. The heaviest snowfall was expected to make its way into Saskatchewan by Friday night, after dropping as much as another 25 cm of snow in the Pincher Creek and foothills areas.

Winter storm warnings remained in effect for  Fort Macleod, Cardston, Blood Reserve, Piikani Reserve, Pincher Creek, Waterton, and Crowsnest Pass. The Claresholm and Nanton region, north through Calgary and along the foothills, were still in a snowfall warning.

As of early Friday, highways were reported as partially snow-covered, with snow and ice on the shoulders. Highway 5 from Magrath to Waterton was reported as snow-packed, while roads around Pincher Creek and the Crowsnest Pass were listed as snow-covered.
