Crash involving car with no plate leads to multiple charges

LETHBRIDGE – A collision that shut down Scenic Drive North has led to impaired and dangerous driving charges.

Police say shortly before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, officers saw a speeding Toyota Camry with no licence plate on Highway 3. It then exited onto Scenic Drive southbound, running a red light and hitting a northbound vehicle.

The driver of the Camry then allegedly tried to run away but was arrested, and police allege he was impaired by drugs. In addition, stolen items were found inside the car.

Joshua Michael Hiott, 39, is in custody charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, possession of stolen property, and possession of break-in tools.
