Fernie, B.C. --  *****UP-DATE - Some disappointing information - As of Friday (Nov 24) Fernie Alpine Resort has cancelled its Preview Weekened due to what they call record breaking warm temperatures and heavy precipitation.

The resort announced this week it was turning lifts on early Saturday and Sunday following near record preseason snowfall.

However, the change of weather over the past few days has changed their minds. The ski hill operator says it will hold off and remain closed until its initial opening day of Dec. 1st.

Kimberley’s ski hill may have a preview weekend, after 160 centimetres have fallen there.

They are slated to open December 9.
