LETHBRIDGE - In a game hi-lighted by a penalty shot, the Lethbridge Lightning ran over the Piikani Regulators 9-1 in Ranchland Hockey League action on Friday night.

James Price put a deke on Piikani goaltender Robbie Heavy Runner, and found the back of the net. Price added two more goals to complete the hat trick, while Ben Bohle, Jake Harrison, Ashton Zintel, Kevin Mayowski, Cam Hurt and Shane Eyre all scored for the Lighting in the victory.

The win gives Lethbridge a record of 5-4-0, good for 10 points and 3 rd place in the RHL.

The Lighting also report in a release that it was a rewarding night for the Salvation Army’s Santa’s Anonymous fundraiser, as many new toys were collected to be distributed this Christmas.

Next up for the Lightning are their final two games before the Christmas break this coming weekend.

They take on the undefeated Nanton Palominos on Friday, Dec. 15 at 8:30 p.m. at Nicholas Sheran Arena. On Saturday, Dec. 16 the Lightning remain at home for a showdown with the Fort Macleod Mustangs, and puck drop is also set for 8:30 p.m.
