Hurricanes halt 4-game losing streak with 6-2 win in Regina
REGINA – After posting four straight losses, three of them on the current eastern road trip, the Hurricanes finished on a positive note before their Christmas break, defeating the Regina Pats.
Taylor Ross opened the scoring on a powerplay half way through the first frame, assisted by Jordy Bellerive and Calen Anderson. Just four minutes later, Regina tied the game, which is where the score remained when the buzzer ended the period.
The next period favoured the Canes, although the first goal didn’t come until the 11:45 mark, off the stick of Jake Elmer, who charted his 12th of the season.
From that point, the team took advantage of a string of powerplays on Regina penalties. Two minutes after Elmer’s goal, Dylan Cozens found the back of the net, assisted by Taylor Ross and Jordy Bellerive.
