Medicine Hat man taken into custody by Taber Police following assault on Saturday night

TABER - Taber Police were called in on Saturday night (Dec. 23) about a complaint of a serious assault with weapons in the 5500 block of 38 Avenue.

When police arrived on scene, a woman was located with severe facial injuries and was taken to Taber Hospital for medical treatment.

Taber Police located the suspect, a man from Medicine Hat, in an apartment nearby and took him into custody.

Police say that the victim and suspect are known to each other.

The investigation is still ongoing, and charges are pending.

More information will be released once charges are laid according to police.
