LETHBRIDGE –  Ahead of the Hurricanes return to action after a ten-day Christmas break, the Club revealed the suspension of 19-year-old forward Ryan Bowen indefinitely for declining a trade.

When Bowen was notified of a trade to another WHL team, he informed the Hurricanes and the acquiring team that he would not report to the new hockey club, which prompted the suspension.

A native of Chilliwack, BC, Bowen appeared in a total of 53 games with the Hurricanes in parts of two seasons collecting 30 points (7g-23a) along with 27 penalty minutes. He added three points (2g-1a) with four penalty minutes in 14 post-season games.

With the trade/suspension, the Hurricanes now have 23 players including 14 forwards, seven defenseman and two goaltenders.
