LETHBRIDGE - It's finally time to unload the Christmas tree.

Youth groups will be picking up natural Christmas trees starting Saturday, Jan. 13 along the usual garbage collection routes, though it may take a couple of days for them to get all the trees collected.

You're asked to have the tree out by 7 a.m., in the spot where you usually put your garbage, but don't leave it right next to the bin. And make sure all the decorations are off it.

The trees will be turned into mulch, which will be handed out free of charge at Peenaquim Park.

If you miss the pickup, you can haul your tree to the dump yourself, or arrange a large item pickup.
