LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Dylan Cozens has been named WHL On the Run Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 14.

Cozens posted five goals and four assists in three games, helping the Hurricanes move into second place in the Central Division, closing in on the division-leading Medicine Hat Tigers.

Cozens scored a goal in a 5-4 shootout victory at home on Tuesday (Jan. 9) against the Red Deer Rebels, then had a goal and three assists in a 6-4 win against the Rebels in the back half of the home-and-home on Friday (Jan. 12).

Cozens saved his best for last, closing out the week in style by tallying his first career hat trick in a 5-2 win over the Kootenay Ice on Saturday night (Jan. 13).

He also also added an assist on the Hurricanes’ fifth goal for his second straight four-point effort.

Cozens is the second member of the Hurricanes to win the award this season after defenceman Calen Addison earned the honours in early December.
