Two men charged in 2017 property crime spree

LETHBRIDGE – Police have charged two men with more than 100 offences, in connection with a property crime spree throughout southern Alberta last year.
 
Lethbridge Police say the two men men were allegedly responsible for numerous property crimes between January and March of 2017.
 
The offences occurred in Lethbridge, Taber, Fort Macleod, Stavely, Claresholm, Nanton and High River. At some of the scenes, police say they were able to collect DNA evidence.
 
Both residential and business locations were targetted.
 
33-year-old Kevin Allen Laffin of Lethbridge, has been charged with 47 offences, including break and enter, theft and mischief under $5,000, resisting a peace officer, arson to property and possession of identity documents, among others. Laffin is currently in jail, and a judge’s order will be requested for him to appear in court.
 
28-year-old Joshua Alexander Drake of Fort Macleod has been charged with more than 60 offences, including theft of a vehicle, break and enter, theft and mischief under $5,000, dangerous driving, arson, and obstruction of a peace officer – and numerous others. He is also in jail, but appeared in court Jan. 12.
