LETHBRIDGE – An annual fundraiser also aims at helping you clean some of the clutter from your home.

For a fifth year, the Lethbridge Community Network’s E-cycle Drive is collecting old electronics, to raise money for its programming. Not only will it be paid by a recycling company for the material, raising an expected $5,000, but any computers that still have some life will be refurbished and resold.

The organization said last year’s drive collected more than 45,000 lbs. and diverted that material from the landfill. It hopes to establish a permanent e-cycling facility in the city, and is looking at a couple of possible semi-permanent locations.

In the meantime, this year’s E-cycle Drive wraps up Sunday, Jan. 21. It’s operating from one location, with bins placed at 1817 3 Ave. S. across from Mint Car Wash.
