Copperheads kickoff playoffs on home ice against High River

COALDALE – Following a strong regular season that culminated in a 1st place South Division finish, the Coaldale Copperheads open the playoffs in the snake pit tonight against the High River Flyers.

The Copperheads won all four games against the High River Flyers during the regular season.

Season Series:

Saturday, Sept. 23 – Coaldale 3 – High River 2

Friday, Dec. 8 – Coaldale 1 – High River 0

Saturday, Jan. 13 – Coaldale 5 – High River 2

Friday, Feb. 9 – Coaldale 7 – High River 4

Coaldale will be looking to the players that carried them during the regular season to do so again in the postseason.

Goaltender Andrew Suriano finished the season with a record of 13-7, to go along with a 2.84 GAA and a 0.904SV%.

Suriano is entering the playoffs playing his best hockey of the season. He allowed only 10 goals in winning seven straight games down the stretch.

Up front, the Copperheads are led by Jayden Smith and Tyler Anderson, who tied for the team lead in points with 35 during the regular season.

Puck drop tonight is set for 8:15 p.m. at the Coaldale Arena, and admission is $10 for adults and $5 for youth.
