Coalhurst Unofficial by-election results – Christensen takes empty Councillor’s seat

COALHURST –  Unofficial results from Coalhurst’s by-election on Thursday, February 22, indicate Elizabeth Christensen as the Councillor-elect with 136 votes.

Christensen, the only woman in the race, defeated the other two candidates, John Guliker (116) and Colin Emerson (33).

Of the roughly 2000 eligible voters, 285 ballots were cast.

Once the election results are official, Christensen will join Mayor Dennis Cassie, Councillors Heather Caldwell, Barbara Edgecombe-Green, and Ron Lagemaat.
