HIGH RIVER –  Thanks to a Chase Williamson overtime goal, the Coaldale Copperheads defeated the High River Flyers 3-2 in Game 4 of the Heritage Junior Hockey League South Division semifinals Friday night.

That evened up their series against the Flyers at 2-2, with the fifth and deciding game going tonight back in the “snake pit” at the Coaldale Sportsplex.

The Copperheads were playing with a heavy heart after learning while the team was travelling to High River that forward Morgan Simpson passed away Friday after a car accident.

The HJHL released a statement this morning:

“The Heritage Junior Hockey League‘s thoughts and prayers are with Morgan Simpson’s family and his Copperheads Hockey teammates during this sad time. Morgan’s big heart and personality were contagious around his teammates and friends.”

Puck drop tonight for Game 5 is set for 8:30 p.m., with the winner of the series set to advance to the South Division final against the Okotoks Bisons.
