City woman charged in counterfeit currency incidents – more arrests expected

LETHBRIDGE  – A 34-year old city woman has been charged in connection with the passing of counterfeit currency at local businesses.

On March 1, officers from the Economic Crime and Priority Crimes Units executed three search warrants – at a hotel room, a westside home and a U-haul. As well, a woman was arrested during a vehicle stop.

The searches resulted in the seizure of printer cartridges, several sheets of paper and clippings of counterfeit US currency.  Some of the US bills had serial numbers matching those of several bills passed at local businesses. A stolen licence plate, printer and other items were also recovered.

Kristina Lucille Zinger, is charged with possession of counterfeit money, uttering counterfeit money, making counterfeit money and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
