LETHBRIDGE – In her first court appearance since being arrested for allegedly passing out counterfeit currency on Tuesday, Mar. 13, Kristina Lucille Zinger was released on bail with a number of conditions.

Zinger was originally charged with the possession of counterfeit money, uttering counterfeit money, making counterfeit money and possession of stolen property under $5,000 earlier this month.

As part of Zinger’s release, she must live at a residence in Lethbridge County and post $2,000 no cash bail – she will only have to pay if she breaches any of her conditions.

Zinger also had her curfew arrangement moved from 11 p.m. to 10 p.m. The last condition is she’s to ingest no drugs or alcohol unless medically prescribed.

On March 1, officers from the Economic Crime and Priority Crimes Unit executed three search warrants – at a hotel room, a westside home and a U-Haul – which resulted in the seizure of printer cartridges, several sheets of paper and clippings of counterfeit U.S. currency.

Some of those U.S. bills had serial numbers matching those of several bills that had been passed out at local businesses in Lethbridge.

Zinger’s next appearance is set for April 5.
