CARDSTON –  Two people have been arrested and charged, after a joint investigation between Cardston RCMP and Blood Tribe Police.

RCMP say a number of suspected fentanyl pills were seized from a home in Cardston Mar. 8.

44-year-old Chantelle Cecilia Daychief and 41-year-old Allan Blake Tail Feathers have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Purpose of Trafficking. They have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Cardston Provincial Court Mar. 19.

RCMP say members continue to work with the Blood Tribe Police, and are asking anyone with information they may have in relation to the illegal drug trade to come forward. There has recently been a spike in the number of fentanyl related overdoses on the Blood Reserve, and in surrounding communities.
