Trial date for Vulcan County man who had hundreds of animals seized could soon be set

LETHBRIDGE - A man who had 131 dogs, 62 rabbits, eight cats and three tortoises seized from his property in Vulcan County April 24, 2017, has had his case adjourned for two weeks, until August 14.
 
At that time, a multi-day trial may be set for Tyler Marshall.

Difficult wildfire conditions require more resources in East Kootenays

CRANBROOK, B.C. -  The BC Wildfire Service is throwing even more resources at the 39 hectare blaze west of Lake Koocanusa.

32 personnel are joined by two helicopters and other heavy equipment in the remote Ward-Bloom region roughly 25 km west of the lake.

CRANBROOK -  With the fire rating high in many locations any help to prevent or fight a fire is a necessity. That help was crucial Tuesday afternoon south-east of Cranbrook, when a travel trailer caught fire on the side of a road, in an area frequented by Southern Albertans.
