Canadian Forces personnel who died during operations in Afghanistan
Some 158 Canadian Forces personnel died during Canada’s operations in Afghanistan. Most occurred during combat in the country, but the official toll includes those who died elsewhere or from non-combat causes. Four civilians were also killed.
A memorial was unveiled on Saturday in Lacombe, Alta., the hometown of the last Canadian soldier to die during the mission. The dedication lists the names of all the soldiers who lost their lives.
