Winter is coming, or it at least appears that way

On first day of summer, Banff & Jasper get 25 cm of snow

BANFF, AB – The Weather Network is reporting that higher terrain near Banff and Jasper received up to 25 cm of snow Friday morning with as much as another 10 cm expected before the weather system ends Friday night.

Following that, the weather forecaster is calling for a risk of thunderstorms on Saturday and rain for most of next week.

The official Twitter account for Jasper National Park posted Thursday evening that “Travel is NOT RECOMMENDED” along the Columbia Icefields Parkway on Highway 93.
