Recycling the Recycling Issue – Once Again

Jan 13, 2016 | 8:36 PM

LETHBRIDGE:  City council will hear about Lethbridge’s proposed blue bin recycling program once again on January 25th.

Councillor Bridget Mearns will put a resolution forward at that time to recommend a pilot project set to begin this year, and also discuss how the city can reach its diversion targets.

“This has been in front of me for three years. It started in the Environment Committee. It’s gone to Finance Committee, it’s been to city council. We’ve heard from the experts. So, I feel we do have enough information to make an informed and good decision,” Mearns explained.

The recommended program will work on alternating weeks, with no opting-out.
