Lethbridge Police: Elderly Targeted In Parking Lot Scam

LETHBRIDGE:  Older women in Lethbridge are beign targetted in parking lots as part of a fraud scam.

City Police are warning the public after several calls about a darker-skinned man approaching elderly women claiming they damaged a vehicle while parking and demanding several hundred dollars in order to avoid making an insurance claim.

Police also learned of a note being left on an elderly woman’s vehicle in one case – advising her to call and then a man demanded insurance information and payment. 
 
The subject is believed to be watching drivers as they enter parking lots and then targeting them accordingly.
