Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Most of Carmangay

Jan 26, 2016 | 1:30 PM

CARMANGAY – A water boil advisory for the village of Carmangay has been lifted.

After two water lines broke on Friday (Jan. 22) and Saturday (Jan. 23), the system had to be shutdown. After repairs were made, the water had to be tested in Calgary to determine if it was safe to use again.

A third small line break happened near the town’s baseball fields, along Alberta Avenue, yesterday. However, crews were able to isolate and shut it down.

Carmangay School, Whyte Street and Alberta Avenue are still affected by the advisory, but it has ended for the rest of the community.
