FarmSafe Workshops To Help Farmers Draft Health and Safety Management Systems

Mar 7, 2016 | 9:50 AM

LETHBRIDGE – The four Alberta crop commissions have teamed up to bring a series of FarmSafe workshops around the province.

The free sessions are being hosted by the Alberta Wheat Commission, Alberta Barley, Alberta Canola Producers Commission and Alberta Pulse Growers Commission.

The workshop will provide training and educational manuals to help farmers develop a complete health and safety management system tailored to their unique operations.

Topics will include things like hazard identification and assessment, ongoing inspections, emergency response, and incident investigation.

Dave Bishop, Director with Alberta Barley, says one of the benefits to farmers is that if they complete the entire course, they will qualify for a 10 per cent rebate on their WCB coverage.

The session on Thursday will take place at the Lethbridge Lodge.
