Lethbridge Hurricanes Log 7-2 Win in Cranbrook

CRANBROOK: Jordy Bellerive tossed the goal through the pipes twice as the Lethbridge Hurricanes whipped Kootenay 7-2.

The loss extends the Ice’s winless streak to 12 games, while it’s win number 44 for the Canes, who led the Ice 43-26 in shots on goal.

Ryan Vandervlis and Giorgio Estephan each had a goal and two assists for the Hurricanes, with goals added by Arvin Atwal, Tyler Wong and Cory Millette. Goalie Stuart Skinner took the win.

The game saw Lethrbidge rack up 23 minutes in penalties for six infractions, including a five minute major fighting and 10-minute Miscondcut penalties for Brady Reagan in the first period.

Kootenay scoring came from Tanner Lishchynsky and Max Patterson.

(3) Kootenay -Max Paterson – (1 goal, 1 assist)

The win leaves the Hurricanes 44-21-1-1 on the season, 2nd in the Eastern Conference and 4th in the WHL standings. The team will host Red Deer on Friday night.
