LETHBRIDGE:    A more evenly matched effort, in terms of shots-on-goal, and fewer penalties in game two of the playoff series between Lethbridge and Regina, saw the Pats shut-out the Hurricanes 3-0.

Team Regina managed to hold themselves to four infractions totalling just eight minutes in penalties on Saturday night, a significant improvement from the 34 minutes in penalties the Pats racked up the night before, in their 6-3 loss to the Canes.

The first period in the second game between the two teams was held scoreless.

Regina’s Adam Brooks found the back of the net just over four minutes into the second period.  In spite of putting heat on their opponents, the Canes were out-shot 18-16 and the period ended 1-0 in favour of the Pats.

Barely a minute and a half into the third period, Adam Brooks notched his second goal of the night, to put Regina ahead 2-0. The Hurricanes fought a hard battle for the rest of the period and pulled goalie Stuart Skinner with less than three minutes in the game.  In spite of an extra attacker, the Pats’ Sam Steel nailed an empty netter, to give Regina a 3-0 win.

With the series tied at a game apiece, action moves to Regina for games 3 and 4.  Game 5 will be back at the Enmax on Friday, April 1st.

The game’s three stars were: 1) Pats – Adam Brooks – 2) Pats – Tyler Brown – 3) ‘Canes – Goalie Stuart Skinner for 25 saves.
