Mar 30, 2016 | 9:37 PM

REGINA – A late first period goal by Regina’s Cole Sanford was all the Pats needed to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Pats goaltender Tyler Brown turned aside 32 shots, picking up his second shutout of the series in a 2-0 win.

The Canes failed to score on three power-plays in the contest, and despite a late surge that saw them outshoot the Pats 11-4 in the final frame.

The first goal came with 48 seconds left in the first period, and the WHL’s leading point getter Adam Brooks added the insurance marker into an empty net with 1:12 left in the game. With the goal, Brooks is tied for the WHL playoff lead in both goals (4) and points (9).
