Indecent Act Charges Dropped Against Lethbridge Teacher

Mar 31, 2016 | 11:20 AM

LETHBRIDGE – Charges have been withdrawn against a Lethbridge Public School District teacher, who had been accused of committing an indecent act.

The charges were dropped by the Crown after Karl Wilfried Miller successfully completed the mental health diversion program.

On October 2, 2015 around 9:30-pm, a 19-year old woman reported a man committing the indecent act outside a home along Columbia Boulevard West. Two other women arriving at the home also saw him, still in the act, and when police arrived the man got into a vehicle and fled the scene. Police later tracked him down and made the arrest without incident.

The mental health diversion program is for low risk, non-violent offenders with addiction or mental health issues, who show a committment to getting treatment.
