ALBERTA – Children in the County of Newell will educate and be educated on anti-waste and recycling for Pitch-In Canada Week from April 17 – 23.

The EcoBrooks Committee is challenging schools in the area to share their knowledge on litter prevention through art.

Students are encouraged to submit one anti-littering piece of art per class.

Once submitted, collaborations will be displayed in high traffic areas in Brooks to educate the public about littering.

“Every year we see more volunteers celebrate Pitch-In Canada Week and we hope we can continue having the same success while encouraging our youth to be environmentally responsible,” Florence Juska, Chair of EcoBrooks said.

Awards will be based on age categories of Kindergarten to Grade 4, Grade 5 to Grade 8 and Grade 9 to Grade 12.

Submissions will be accepted at City Hall until May 6, and the winner will be notified May 9.
