Premier Notley Condemns Federal Party Policy
EDMONTON: N-D-P Premier Rachel Notley is condemning the federal party’s plan to consider dramatic policy changes that would have huge implications for her energy-reliant province.
Notley says the Leap Manifesto’s proposal to ban new pipelines is thoughtless, naive, ill-formed and tone-deaf.
However, Notley is not looking to split off her provincial party from the federal N-D-P, saying instead the Alberta wing will make its points from within the party.
On the weekend, delegates at the federal N-D-P party convention in Edmonton voted to discuss the Leap Manifesto and its policy implications at the constituency level.
