Lethbridge Man Charged For Serious Assault in Taber

TABER – A Lethbridge man has been charged in relation to a serious assault in Taber.

On Sunday around 2:15 am, Taber Police were called to a licensed establishment for a fight in progress.

Police allege that the 33-year-old male victim was standing outside of the bar, when the accused walked up to him and started punching him repeatedly in the face.

The victim received serious facial injuries and was transported to Taber Hospital, Lethbridge Regional Hospital, and then on to Calgary.

The accused left the scene before police arrived.

As a result of the investigation, Taber Police charged 24-year-old Kenneth Somerville of Lethbridge with aggravated assault. He was arrested on Monday night with the help of Lethbridge Police.

Somerville will remain in custody until his next court appearance in Taber on April 19.
