ALBERTA – The province has committed almost $10,000 to update the cost-benefit study for the twinning of Highway 3.

The money will go to the Highway 3 Twinning Development Association to update the current study, which was completed in 2002.

The Van Horne Institute study went over the estimated cost and the economic benefits to the region if the highway were twinned from Medicine Hat to the BC border.

“Alberta’s transportation network is vital to our economy, facilitating trade and connecting people and communities,” stated Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Brian Mason. “Highway 3 is a key piece of this network, and I’m pleased to bring this important study forward.”
